[APR013] High Voltage Overdrive – With Whiskey On The Road
The story of High Voltage Overdrive, a Hard Rock band from Kurtatsch, started in 2008 when Ivan Tiecher (guitar), Arno Giovanett (vocals/bass) and Vigil Peer (drums) founded The 3 Murphys. Inspired by bands as AC/DC or Motörhead, in 2009 the young musicians decided to release their very first EP named “Time For Rock’n’Roll” and became the winners of the „Bank4fun-Band-Competition“. Shortly after that, the band hired a fourth member: It was Thomas „Hamster“ Unterhauser’s job to add some richness to the songs with his second guitar. With such remarkably increased rocking powers, in 2010 The 3 Murphy’s made it to the finals of South Tyrol’s biggest band competition: The “Rocknet Live Award”. In June 2011 Unterhauser left the band and was replaced by Stefano Lucchi. For this reason the young musicians finally decided to rename their band to High Voltage Overdrive and to start 2012 with some fresh energy. In spring of that same year, the producer Lukas Flarer (Voices of Decay, Ex-Graveworm) banned this highly compelling Rock’n’Roll vibe on the band’s new longplayer “With Whiskey On The Road”. Die Geschichte der Hardrock-Band High Voltage Overdrive aus Kurtatsch (Unterland), begann im Jahr 2008 als Ivan Tiecher (Gitarre), Arno Giovanett (Gesang/Bass) und Vigil Peer (Schlagzeug) die 3 Murphys gründeten. Inspiriert von großen Rockbands wie AC/DC oder Motörhead veröffentlichten die jungen Musiker 2009 ihre erste EP „Time For Rock’n’Roll“ und landeten bei der „Bank4fun-Band-Competition“ auf Platz 1. Wenig später holten die 3 Murphys ein viertes Mitglied in die Band: Thomas „Hamster“ Unterhauser sollte die Songs mit einer zweiten Gitarre veredeln. Somit standen die 3 Murphys mehr unter Strom und schafften es bei Südtirols größten Bandwettbewerb „Rocknet Live Award“ 2010 bis ins Finale. Im Juni 2011 verließ Unterhauser die Band wieder und sein Part wurde von Stefano Lucchi übernommen. Deshalb entschieden sich die Musiker schließlich, ihre Band in High Voltage Overdrive umzubenennen und mit neuer Energie ins Jahr 2012 zu starteten. Im Frühjahr 2012 wurde diese Rock’n’Roll-Energie mit Produzent Lukas Flarer (Voices of Decay, Ex-Graveworm) auf CD gebannt: Der neue Longplayer „With Whiskey On The Road“ wurde Ende Juni 2012 über das Label Airbagpromo Records veröffentlicht und ist auf records.airbagpromo.com als freier, legaler Download erhältlich.
La storia del gruppo hardrock High Voltage Overdrive di Cortaccia (bassa atesina) inizia nel 2008, quando Ivan Tiecher (chitarra), Arno Giovanett (voce/basso) e Vigil Peer (batteria) decidono di creare i 3 Murphys. Ispirandosi a gruppi rock di rilievo come AC/DC o Motörhead, questi giovani musicisti nel 2009 pubblicano il loro primo EP “Time For Rock’n’Roll” e raggiungono il primo posto alla “Bank4fun-Band-Competition”. Poco dopo, ai 3 Murphys si aggiunge un nuovo membro: Thomas “Hamster” Unterhauser con una seconda chitarra sa raffinare il suono del gruppo. Quindi i 3 Murphys nel 2010 raggiungono la finale nel più importante music contest dell’Alto Adige, il “Rocknet Live Award”. Nell’estate del 2011 Unterhauser lascia il gruppo e viene sostituito da Stefano Lucchi. Visti questi cambiamenti, decidono di cambiare il nome della band in High Voltage Overdrive, per ripartire con nuove energie nel 2012. Nell’inizio del 2012, tutta la loro potenza Rock’n’Roll viene catturata su un CD prodotto da Lukas Flarer (Voices of Decay, Ex-Graveworm): il nuovo longplayer “With Whiskey On The Road” è pubblicato a fine giugno tramite la casa discografica Airbagpromo Records, ed è scaricabile gratuitamente e in modo legale su records.airbagpromo.com.
